Life in the country has its many charms, but occasionally there are problems and heartaches that we have to deal with. Our farmhouse is over 100 years old, and as such, needs constant maintenance. I can truly say that the amount of work necessary exceeded my expectations. The most recent troubles were so upsetting that they made me cry. We had to cut down oak trees in front of our house. It was estimated that the trees were more than 300 years old and they showed signs of severe decay.
Key Takeaways:
- Life in the country isn’t as relaxing as we imagined it would be, there is always something to fix.
- The trees weren’t looking very good, but it wasn’t until we got a second opinion we found out we had a bug problem.
- We had the trees removed by a professional and were told that their downfall began in 2011.
“We noticed a couple of years ago the trees were in distress. There are several moss filled Post Oaks around the house but the two right in front of the porch looked sickly and worse than the others so we made an appointment to have an Arborist come out and take a look.”
